Việt SửTruyện cổ tích đời Hùng-vương

Chử Đồng Tử

1.Tien Dung was a beautiful princess of King Hung Vuong III. she liked to sail around the country. There was a very poor family living at a riverbank. The father, Chu Vy Van had only a piece of loincloth. Whenever his son, Chu Dong Tu needed to go outside, he had to give his loincloth to his son.

2.Before he died, he told his son to bury him naked and keep the loincloth for himself. But Chu Dong Tu loved his father very much. He could not keep the loincloth for himself. So he buried his father with the cloth. From that time on, he had nothing to cover his body. He had to hide himself in the water during the day. At night, he traded with the merchant ships the fishes that he caught for rice.

3.One day, he saw the ship of Princess Tien Dung. He ran to a bush and covered himself with sand. Tien Dung fell in love with the romantic scenery and decided to make a temporary stop. She asked her handmaids to circle that area with silk curtains so she can take a bath.

4.As she poured the water on the ground, the sand ran off; tien Dung was startled when she found a naked young man next to her. Chu Dong Tu was so frightened; he tried to run away. Princess Tien Dung thought that their fortuous encounter was God's idea. She gave Chu Dong Tu clothes and told him that she wanted to marry him. King Hung Vuong was very angry. He disclaimed her royal title and prohibited her and her husband to stay in the royal palace.

5.Tien Dung and Chu Dong Tu traveled everywhere together. One day, a Buddhist monk named Phap Quang gave them a cane and a hat. The monk told them to fix the cane on the ground and put the hat on its end, a palace will then appear for them. Tien Dung and Chu Dong Tu followed the monk's instructions. When they got up the next morning, they pulled the cane out of the ground. The whole palace levitated; Tien Dung, Chu Dong Tu and the palace soon disappeared behind the clouds.
